What is Self-regulation?

In this video, the Committee for Children explores self-regulation, how to build self-regulation skills in children, and the importance of having these skills.

Research shows that students with better self-regulation skills have higher academic achievement, are more likely to get along with others, and are better able to build and maintain strong relationships. The creators of Second Step® programs are helping bring these skills to students worldwide.

Dr. Shanker provides a succinct and clear answer to the question, “What is Self-Reg” by explaining the relationship between stress and self-regulation in the five domains where we experience stress.

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. A story of adventure into the world of self-regulation.
